Update: Thank you very much to mystblade9 for helping me fix the dutch runes in the center. I guess they should be facing the right way of course? haha! Thank you SO much!
Very very happy with this piece.
This was a tattoo commission from you-mad-b-r-o He plans to get it on his upper arm. In the end I believe it will be in color, but he chose to let the tattoo inker choose the palette, which is fine, I've never done a full grey-scale like this before, and it was amazingly fun.
Mike originally sent me a simple message asking if I'd be interested in " put together some imagery from a song, both literal and interpretive, and combine it into a cohesive visual, for a tattoo" and "jot down some ideas?".
Honestly, I didn't like the song much, it was interesting, so I sketched out this. Needless to say, mike thought I could do better... His ideas evolved along with the sketch, and soon we'd dug ourselves into a pit of epic.
And now, after 30 hours of work, we've melded our visions together into an immense symbolic tattoo.
A version without watermarks has been sent to Mike.
