This was commissioned by ~romix9. It is a completion of a pre-existing upper arm tattoo he has.
(The arch at the top would drape over and around his lower shoulder, and the rest would wrap around the upper arm. Blank space is where his existing tattoo would be.)
I'm very proud of this piece because it was a huge challenge. I'd never done anything in a style like this, and so it took a ton of trying over and over to get it right. Eventually though, I got the hang of it, and he was very pleased with the finished product. This design is for ~romix9 only. It is not to be used anywhere without written consent from him or me. Paint Tool SAI 15+ Hours Completely freehand. Disclaimer: I know that the Polynesian and Maori tattoos are a very special thing, and can only truly be a Polynesian tattoo if made by a extensively trained tattoo artist who specializes in that style. I also know that there is a lot of aggression towards artists who attempt this style. I entered the project knowing these things, and the commissioner assured me that He wanted me to do it even though I lack training. So I just want to state clearly and plainly, This is a Polynesian 'inspired' tattoo. Please do not direct any anger towards the commissioner or me the artist for attempting to re-create the beautiful style. This is an inspired piece and nothing more. Thank you.
