MTG - Plainswalker Life Counter - Concept Design by MamaELM MTG - Plainswalker Life Counter - Concept Design by MamaELM
EditI've submitted the design to a print site and found out that since the discs are solid, it would cost around $120 for one made of Stainless Steel, So I'm planning on reworking the design and trying again, if I could get it down to around 10-20$ for one, I think I'd be able to have them produced and sell them. :)

(Also, if anyone would be interested in a black plastic one instead, those would cost about $30 with this design. I'm going to see what I can do though on making it not so material heavy.)

Haha, 3D printing is expensiveeeeee

A concept design me and my husband are working on.
Modeled in Rhinoceros, rendered in Flamingo.

This would be four simple metal discs held together with a basic rivet. All four discs would spin independently, and you could use the top of the Plainswalker symbol, or the bottom if you wish, to aim at the current number.

The numbers are roman numerals, 1 through 9, with zero being a unique symbol of a 0 within a roman pillar. You would obviously just line them up according to your current life. The number on the large image is III-V-0, meaning 35

The one on the smaller one is 0-0-0, meaning zero obviously.

999 is max amount.

THIS concept design and image are ŠEmma Mullins (being me)
These may be physically (3D printed versions, actually to play with) in the future. I just have to get a test sample sent.

:D Thanks! I have to modify it though if I actually want to get them made, this uses too much material :D

I'd buy it in black plastic for 30$ but I'll wait for the new design if it's around 10-20$ :) (Smile)

:D Cool! Thats good to know, I'm still kind of brainstorming the new design, this one is already so small, its going to take something crazy to use that much less material. I've got a couple sketches I'm gonna have to see what my husband thinks about which would work best. :D

It'd be a great idea. and I'd be happy to pick up one of the counters, as soon as I get a steady job.

:) Not if you had to pay $200 for it though right? Haha! I'll post a better/cheaper version once I tweak it and see how much it would be. If i can get it down low enough to make some and sell at the local card shop that would be so epic. :D

It's be real pimpin' if just to have one made out of silver with a gem of each mana color just for the bragging rights.

the only thing I think you might want to edit with what you have shown is that instead of a place for "10" on each ring, change it to a 0 (represented by a pip or some such thing)  so that in the 1's ring it's 1 to 9, the 10's ring it's 1 to 9, the  100's ring goes to 1 to 9 ..... or maybe since that would be the largest ring make it go to 20
